Evgeni Malkin was the only Penguin selected to participate in the NHL All-Star game on Jan. 29 in Ottawa.
↵Malkin is eighth in the NHL in scoring with 45 points in 35 games. It is the Russian playmaker’s fourth All-Star selection.
↵No other Penguins were selected, though Sidney Crosby was one of the highest vote-getters in the league. Crosby, who is currently out with concussion-like symptoms, hasn’t played since early December, and has only played eight games this season, recording 12 points in the process.
↵The host Senators garnered the most selections with five followed by four for the Western Conference leading Vancouver Canucks.
