2012 NHL All Star Draft: James Neal Taking By Team Alfredsson In 14th Round

The final Pittsburgh Penguin All-Star to be selected in Thursday night's fantasy draft was James Neal. Daniel Alfredsson and co-captain Henrik Lundqvist took Neal in the fourteenth round. He joins Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang on Alfredsson's team and will face off against Evgeni Malkin. Neal and Malkin have had incredible success this season playing on the same line, so it will be interesting to see them on opposite sides.

Neal was the last player named to the All-Star rosters, replacing the Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin. He got the call to go to Ottawa just one day before the draft. He has already equaled his career-high of 27 goals in just a half-season. With Neal's selection, all the PIttsburgh Penguins are now off the board in the draft. It was an impressive showing with two players going in the first five rounds.
