2012 NHL All-Star Game Recap: Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, And James Neal All Have Points As Team Chara Wins

The 2012 NHL All-Star game is in the books, and Evgeni Malkin's Team Chara came out with the 12-9 win over Team Alfredsson. Malkin scored the second goal of the game just minutes into the first period, beating Henrik Lundqvist on a beautiful puck-handling play and flip past the Rangers' superstar goalie.

Both Kris Letang and James Neal added points for Team Alfredsson, putting all three Pens on the board in the first forty minutes. Letang assisted a Henrik Sedin score while Neal provided the feed on a Jason Pominville blast. It was the first time three Penguins had a point in the All-Star Game since 1996, when Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr, and Ron Francis completed the feat. Letang also passed Paul Coffey for the most points by a Pittsburgh defenseman in the All-Star Game.

Marian Gaborik of the New York Rangers was named the MVP.
