We're right in the middle of bowl season but there are some pretty good collegiate basketball games going on as well this weekend as every team starts to get into the middle of their Conference play. Two of the three local teams will be in action, and they will both face teams that are ranked in the top-15.
West Virginia looked very strong in a 85-64 dismantling of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Wednesday, the West Virginia Mountaineers will be hosting the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday, now ranked at No. 9 in the Country. It's the first of two games in a row against top-ten teams, the Mountaineers will also face the UConn Huskies this coming week, although they might not be in the top ten by the time they meet. That game will be played on Saturday at Noon and can be seen on ESPN3.
Penn State will be facing one of the real surprises of the young college basketball season, the Indiana Hoosiers. They will host the No. 12 Hoosiers on Sunday at noon.
The Pitt Panthers, coming off a very tough loss to DePaul, will have almost a week off before they take the court again next Wednesday.
We'll have more on these games throughout the week on SB Nation Pittsburgh, but for more on each of these teams check out their individual team blogs.
