News broke on Monday of plans to build a new sport stadium in Station Square.
↵Though described as “multi-sport,” the stadium’s primary inhabitant is likely to be the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
↵The Riverhounds have been without a permanent home since their inception in 1999. Over the last 13 years, they’ve played in a handful of high school stadiums, save for when they played at the Washington Wild Things’ Falconi Field (now named CONSOL Energy Park) in 2005 and 2006. They’ve played in Chartiers High School Stadium since 2008.
↵The Riverhounds are due to announce additional details and stadium renderings at a 10 a.m. press conference on Tuesday.
