So far, so good for the Pitt Panthers, as they look to notch their first Big East win of the 2012 season. Pitt currently leads the Temple Owls at halftime, 31-7.
Pitt jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Rushel Shell rushed for a one-yard touchdown, putting Pitt up 7-0 before Tino Sunseri completed an 18-yard touchdown pass to J.P. Holtz, extending the lead to 14-0.
Temple responded late in the first quarter with a touchdown of their own, but Pitt kept the scoring going in the second quarter. Kevin Harper's 32-yard field goal early in the quarter gave the Panthers a 17-7 lead.
Ray Graham extended Pitt's lead yet again, to 24-7 late in the half, after rushing for a one-yard touchdown.
Sunseri would hook up with Graham on a four-yard touchdown pass to close out the first half, and give Pitt a 31-7 lead.
Graham has had a strong first half, rushing the ball 12 times for 50 yards and a touchdown, while hauling in four receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown.
Pitt has outgained Temple in total yards, 334-92, and certainly looks to be on its way to notching its first Big East win of the season.
