Jason Kirk's latest bowl projections for SBNation.com provide plenty of intrigue. Alabama and Oregon are still set to face one another in the National Championship, with Kansas State and Notre Dame facing off in the Fiesta Bowl. Georgia and Louisville face one another in the Sugar Bowl, with Florida State and Boise State in the Orange Bowl and Oregon State and Nebraska in the Rose Bowl.
Pitt, which is 4-4 but which has two of his final four games against Notre Dame and Rutgers, doesn't turn up anywhere. And of course Penn State isn't eligible. But this set of projections still does provide a doozy of a matchup for the Pittsburgh area, with West Virginia facing off against Arizona in the Holiday Bowl. Mountaineers fans can still hope for a better result than that, but if that's how things do turn out, that would be a lot of fun -- it's West Virginia vs. Rich Rodriguez, people.
