Pitt vs. Notre Dame 2012: TV schedule, game time, spread and more

Pitt travels to Notre Dame hoping to shake up the BCS.

Jared Wickerham

In the midst of a two-game winning streak, the 4-4 Pitt Panthers face their most daunting task of the season as they travel to South Bend, Indiana to face the undefeated, #3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Notre Dame Stadium.

After starting the season 2-4, Pitt has won two games in a row, including a 47-17 home win against Temple last weekend. Tino Sunseri was efficient, completing 20/28 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns. Ray Graham also scored three total touchdowns, and the defense gave up just over 300 total yards to the Owls.

The Irish, #3 in the current BCS standings, are coming off a 30-13 win over Oklahoma last week. The Irish are in a tight battle with Oregon and Kansas State for the #2 spot in the BCS standings, and have allowed only 9.9 points per game on the season, good for second in the country. Notre Dame has given up only one rushing touchdown this season, indicating that Sunseri will have to exceed his Temple performance to give Pitt a chance at a win.

Notre Dame beat Pittsburgh, 15-12, last season.
