TCU vs. WVU score update: Horned Frogs take 7-0 lead after first

West Virginia's offense has stalled early, but Trevone Boykin led the TCU Horned Frogs on an efficient scoring drive to put the Mountaineers down 7-0 early at home.

WVU's quarterback Geno Smith has completed 7-of-11 passes, but nothing downfield, as he only has 37 yards passing. All but one of the six drives in the first quarter resulted in a punt.

After the first three drives resulted in no points, TCU took over on their own 22. Boykin completed all four of his passes to four different receivers for 58 yards, including a 22-yard strike to Brandon Carter to bring the Horned Frogs to the two-yard line. From there, Matthew Tucker handled the rest, rushing for a touchdown on the next play.

The lack of an ability to make plays downfield isn't the only problem for the Mountaineers. The team also has only 14 yards on the ground on four attempts, and is 1-for-4 on third downs with only three first downs.
