TCU vs. West Virginia score: Mountaineers hold 21-14 lead at halftime

After what was a very entertaining first half in Morgantown, the West Virginia Mountaineers hold a 21-14 lead over the TCU Horned Frogs. WVU once trailed 14-7 early in the second quarter, although Geno Smith's play and a costly muffed punt in the red zone cost TCU a chance at a lead.

Smith has been impressive so far, completing 19 of his 29 pass attempts for 174 yards and two touchdowns. His lone mistake was an interception. The Mountaineers have been unable to get anything going on the ground, gaining just 49 yards on 17 carries. Tavon Austin continues to be a force down the field with a team-high seven receptions, 85 yards and a touchdown score.

TCU's offense has been successful most of the day. Trevone Boykin was 7-for-11 on his pass attempts in the first half, throwing for an even 100 yards. He connected with Josh Boyce for a 31-yard touchdown score midway through the second quarter. Similar to the Mountaineers, the Horned Frogs haven't been able to run the ball; the team has combined for 28 yards on 20 carries.

The second half is about to begin. You can catch the action on FOX.
