Steelers will promote David Gilreath

The Pittsburgh Steelers plan to promote wide receiver David Gilreath to the active roster, according to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

With receiver Antonio Brown questionable for Monday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to injury, the Steelers are looking to improve their depth at the position. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin stated on Monday, that Brown had suffered a mild high ankle sprain during the team's victory over the New York Giants in Week 9. It appeared that Brown suffered the injury when attempting to receive a deep pass in the first half.

With Brown likely out, the team proactively bolstered the position on Wednesday by adding free agent Derek Moye to the practice squad.

In terms of Gilreath, he was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts in 2011. After acting as a member of the team's practice squad, he was released and signed by the St. Louis Rams for their practice squad, before being released and signed by the Buffalo Bills for their practice squad.

After being released by the Bills, he was signed by the Steelers in January of 2012 and was signed to the team's practice squad in September.
