Pitt vs. Bethune-Cookman: Panthers seeking 10th victory of season

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sport

Pitt will look for its tenth victory of the season when it faces Bethune-Cookman on Saturday at the Pete.

The Panthers have been flat-out dominant this year and that probably won't change this weekend. Pitt has won its nine games by an average of just over 25 points per contest and other than a close five-point loss to Michigan, has been unbeatable.

Bethune-Cookman could keep things close, though. The Wildcats are only 4-7 on the season, but have been in every game this year. Their worst loss was only by 13 points and the team has kept things close all year.

The Wildcats are led by 6'5 forward Adrien Coleman, who leads the team in scoring (18.8 points per game) and rebounding (8.1 per game). Coleman even ranks second in assists with just under four per contest. He's a do-it-all type of player and could give the Panthers fits.

Bethune-Cookman also will bring an experienced team to the Pete. The team's top five scorers are all upperclassmen and the Wildcats start four seniors and a junior. In addition, having played seven road games already this year, Bethune-Cookman isn't likely to be rattled away from home.

The Panthers, though, have simply been too good lately and a loss or even a close game would be a bit of a surprise.
