West Virginia wide receiver Stedman Bailey is projected to be selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins, according to a mock draft published by WalterFootball.com.
With the Dolphins currently slated to claim ownership to the No. 54 overall selection, WalterFootball.com believes that the team will use that pick to acquire the junior receiver.
Bailey might be of interest to the Dolphins because a No. 1 receiver has yet to emerge on the team. With Miami using their first selection in the 2012 draft on quarterback Ryan Tannehill, the site believes that the organization will look to surround him with potential weapons:
Brian Hartline hasn't done very much since posting 200-plus yards at Arizona, so it's clear that he's not a No. 1. The Dolphins need a top option for the inconsistent Ryan Tannehill.
Bailey is foregoing his senior season in order to declare for the draft. In 12 games with West Virginia in 2012, the 22-year-old registered career-highs in receptions (106), receiving yards (1,501) and touchdowns (23). Over the course of three seasons with the team, he registered 202 receptions for 3,097 yards and 39 touchdowns.
