2013 NFL Mock Draft: Steelers nab Barkevious Mingo

With the 2012 season in the books, it's time to turn our attention to the upcoming draft.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are the oldest team in the NFL, and in 2012, that age started to show in a bunch of players, including many on the defensive side of the ball.

In the latest 2013 NFL mock draft, Walter Football has the Pittsburgh Steelers taking Barkevious Mingo out of LSU with the No. 14 overall pick to replace James Harrison.

Mingo has tremendous upside, showing power and quickness off the edge as a defensive end in Les Miles' defense. Mingo is also very active in the passing game, having the awareness to break up six passes.

At 240 pounds, he would be extremely small as a lineman in the pros but perfect as an edge-rusher in a 3-4 scheme a la Dick Lebeau's defense.

Many mock drafts have Mingo going a bit higher than where the Steelers will pick, but should he fall it would be a very viable option for Pittsburgh.
