NCAA Football Rankings 2012: Notre Dame, Alabama atop BlogPoll

After the end of the regular season, bloggers put Notre Dame and Alabama on top of their poll, with the same as the BCS rankings.

The final BlogPoll of the regular season is out, and as expected, Notre Dame and Alabama are the top two squads heading into the BCS Championship Game.

Bloggers weren't that dissimilar from the BCS Rankings, putting the same two teams in the top two, although Oregon was No. 3 in the BlogPoll, as opposed to No. 4, finishing a spot higher than Florida. Ohio State finished No. 3 in the AP Poll, but was No. 7 in the BlogPoll, with two voters putting the ineligible, but undefeated Buckeyes in the top spot. Northern Illinois finished No. 16, meaning bloggers would also have included the MAC Champions in the Orange Bowl, where they will face Florida State.

Penn State received a nice sampling of votes, whereas they were ineligible to be in the BCS rankings. The Nittany Lions finished 29th after their 8-4 season, receiving some votes as high as No. 15.
