2012 Super Bowl Injury Report: No Surprise Inactives, Rob Gronkowski Active And Will Play

With just a couple hours remaining before kick off in Super Bowl XLVI, the Patriots and Giants released their official injury reports for the big game. There were no last minute question marks and thus, there were no real surprises on the inactives list. Most importantly, Rob Gronkowski is active and Bill Belichick has said the Woodland Hills grad will play. The amount of time he sees is still to be determined based on how his ankle responds, according to the Patriots' head coach.

For the Giants, former Penn State defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy is inactive.

The full list of inactives for both teams:

Patriots Inactives:

QB Ryan Mallett, RB Kevin Faulk, RB Shane Vereen, OLB/MLB Gary Guyton, G Donald Thomas, C/G Nick McDonald and DT Ron Brace.

Giants Inactives:

WR Ramses Barden, RB Da'Rel Scott, LB Mark Herzlich, C Jim Cordle, DT Jimmy Kennedy, T James Brewer and DE Justin Trattou.
