Tyler Kennedy Injury: Penguins Forward Out Four To Six Weeks With High Ankle Sprain

The Pittsburgh Penguins got some disappointing news about the status of forward Tyler Kennedy Thursday, as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Shelley Anderson is reporting he's out four to six weeks with a high ankle sprain.

"(Head coach Dan Bylsma) added that the time frame will become clearer moving forward."

Kennedy, who has tallied six goals and 22 points, got hurt in Sunday's game at the New Jersey Devils. Its anticipated that Pittsburgh will recall a forward, as Jordan Staal is next expected to return for the Penguins' matchup against the Winnipeg Jets (2:00 PM ET).

Without Kennedy, the Penguins lost to the Montreal Canadians Tuesday night, 3-2.
