Bracketology 2012: Where Should WVU Hope To Land?

Joe Lunardi's latest bracketology has West Virginia as a No. 10 seed. Not that the exact matchups matter much, but the Mountaineers are in the East region, playing San Diego State (yes, East region) in the first round. If they won that game, they'd probably have to play No. 2-seeded Duke.

Again, the specific matchups aren't important. But given that West Virginia will make the NCAA Tournament at all (which obviously is more of a likelihood than a certainty at this point), it would be nice to see the Mountaineers make it as a No. 11 or a No. 12 seed as opposed to a No. 9 or a No. 10. They'll face a tougher first-round matchup that way, but they won't have to play a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the second.

Anyway, 10 Big East schools make it, including WVU: Syracuse (1), Georgetown (3), Marquette (3), Louisville (4), Notre Dame (5), Cincinnati (8), UConn (9), South Florida (12) and Seton Hall (13). Regardless of the outcome of Saturday night's Big East championship game between Cincinnati and Louisville, it would be a bit surprising to see Cincinnati ranked so low after beating Marquette, Georgetown and Syracuse in the 10 days.
