The Penn State Lady Lions trail LSU, 37-36, after one half of their second-round NCAA Tournament matchup in Baton Rouge. Playing on the No. 5 seed Lady Tigers' home floor, the No. 4 seed PSU lead almost the entire half before an LSU bucket with 23 seconds remaining gave them their first lead.
For Penn State fans, it was the Maggie Lucas show as the sophomore was absolutely on fire from three-point range in the first half. She hit five of six attempts from behind the arc and finished with 19 points in the first 20 minutes. Mia Nickson added eight points and five boards on the interior to provide a solid inside-outside threat for PSU. But the Tigers crashed the glass and hit 11 of 12 free throws to match the hot-shooting of Lucas. PSU will look to re-gain the lead early in the second half and advance on to the Sweet 16 in the Kingston Region.
