2012 Women's NCAA Tournament Bracket And Schedule: Penn State Faces UConn With Trip To Elite 8 On Line

Sweet 16 play in the 2012 NCAA Women's tournament wraps up on Sunday, with games being played in the Raleigh and Kingston regions. No. 4 seed Penn State's matchup with No. 1 seed UConn, tipping just after 4:30 p.m. ET in Kingston, highlights the action for local fans.

This is Penn State's first appearance in the Sweet 16 since 2004 and first under fifth-year coach Coquese Washington, a former assistant coach at Notre Dame under Muffet McGraw. The Nittany Lions, who averaged 76.2 points per game during the regular season, have kicked it up a notch in the NCAA Tournament, scoring 87.5 points per game in two contests. The other matchup in the Kingston region will see upset-minded No. 11 seed Gonzaga vs. No. 2 seed Kentucky.

In the Raleigh region, Brenda Frese and her No. 3 seed Maryland Terrapins take on No. 2 seed Texas A&M in the early game, while the late game pits No. 1 seed Notre Dame against No. 5 seed St. Bonaventure.
