The 2012 NCAA Women's Tournament has been far more unpredictable than its male counterpart, and that continued on Monday night in the first half of the Elite Eight.
No. 1 Baylor, who haven't been threatened very much this season, weren't threatened again in their matchup against No. 2 Tennessee either. Some choppiness aside, it was a relatively easy 77-58 victory for Baylor, who advance to the Final Four as the presumptive favorite.
The second game on Monday also featured the top two seeds of the region with No. 1 Stanford and No. 2 Duke. A dominant performance by Nneka Ogwumike (29 points 17 rebounds) led the Cardinal to a 81-69 victory.
There will be two more games on Tuesday night to decide the rest of the Final Four. No. 2 Maryland matches up with No. 1 Notre Dame and No. 2 Kentucky against No. 1 Connecticut.
