The Robert Morris Colonials were able to advance to the Northeast Conference Tournament championship yet again, pulling off a 71-64 comeback victory over the Wagner Seahawks.
After trailing 31-29 at the half, the Colonials stormed out of the gate with a 10-1 run to start the second half. After holding the Seahawks at bay for much of the second half, Wagner would make a comeback, cutting the deficit to 65-62 with 1:01 remaining, but they were not able to get any closer.
After being plagued with foul trouble, guard Velton Jones was able to put together a solid performance in the second half while playing smart. He scored a team-high 17 points.
For Wagner, Latif Rivers led the team with 18 points to lead all scorers.
Robert Morris will face the winner of the Long Island-Quinnipiac semifinal in the NEC Championship Wednesday night.
