Duquesne Vs. Massachusetts Score Update: UMass Holds 51-46 Edge At Halftime

In first round action of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Basketball Tournament, the No. 9-seeded Duquesne Dukes trail the No. 8 seed Massachusetts Minutemen 51-46 at halftime in Amherst.

The high-scoring, fast-paced game has featured little defense, as both teams are shooting over 50 percent at the half. Javorn Farrell of UMass has come off the bench to lead all scorers with 13 points and has also dished out six assists. Raphiael Putney has added 12 points and shot 5-of-6 from the field in the first half.

For Duquesne, Jerry Jones also came off the bench to put in a very good opening half. He has scored 10 points and is a perfect 4-of-4 shooting including a pair of three pointers. B.J. Monteiro leads the Dukes with 11 points.

With the fast pace, turnovers down the stretch will be key in the second half. Each team committed seven turnovers, so whoever commits less in the final 20 minutes will have a much better chance to come out on top.
