Pirates Vs. Giants: Pittsburgh Tries To Stop Five-Game Losing Streak On Sunday

The Pittsburgh Pirates (2-6) lost their fifth game in a row Saturday night, and on Sunday will look to end that skid and salvage at least one win in their series with the San Francisco Giants (4-4). Saturday's defeat came courtesy of a Clint Barmes throwing error that allowed San Francisco's Emmanuel Burris to score the winning run in a 4-3 Giants victory.

The Pirates have been atrocious offensively during the losing streak, batting just .171 and scoring just seven runs total in five games. Barmes in particular has struggled at the plate, going just 2 for 23 to start the season for Pittsburgh.

Kevin Correia will take the hill for the Pirates. The right-hander pitched well on Tuesday, allowing just one run and four hits in a 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. In five career appearances against the Giants, Correia is 1-1 with a 3.67 ERA.

San Francisco will send Ryan Vogelsong, fresh off the disable list, to the mound to oppose Pittsburgh. Vogelsong, a former Pirate, is 1-1 with a 5.91 ERA in two starts against his former club.
