Pirates Vs. Diamondbacks: Bucs' Offense Now Faces Ian Kennedy

The Pirates have had a very rough go so far this season, and things don’t look likely to get any easier for them Tuesday night as they face Ian Kennedy and the Diamondbacks.

The Bucs are easily the worst team in the league in scoring, with only 19 runs so far (Oakland is second-to-last, with 28). Kennedy, meanwhile, racked up 222 innings last year, striking out 198 while posting a 2.88 ERA. His component numbers suggest that ERA should have been a little bit worse, and he doesn’t have dominating stuff, but he’s still more than good enough to give the Pirates’ sorry offense fits.

Jeff Karstens starts for the Bucs. He has struck out five and walked two in 11 innings so far this season.

The game begins at 9:40 p.m. Eastern.
