Penguins Assistant Coach Tony Granato And Flyers Head Coach Peter Laviolette Fined By NHL

A brawl in Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers is going to end up costing a pair of coaches a little extra cash for their role in the altercation. Flyers head coach Peter Laviolette and Pittsburgh Penguins assistant Tony Granato both got slapped with fines from the NHL on Monday. As reported by Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Laviolette drew a $10,000 fine, while Granato got a $2,500 fine for arguing while their players battled it out on the ice.

The fight occurred after Penguins center Joe Vitale delivered a big hit on Flyers center Danny Briere. Vitale was not called for the hit, and said that he had not heard from the NHL since the game. You can see a video of the brawl here.
