2012 NFL Draft: Steelers Told Mike Adams They Wouldn't Draft Him

Steelers second-round pick Mike Adams, who was part of the tattoo mess at Ohio State and tested positive for marijuana at the NFL Scouting Combine, might not seem like a typical Steelers pick. But Steelers Depot tweets that Adams’ selection came as the result of an arrangement between player and team after a meeting at the combine.

Says Mike seeked them out for face to face and Colbert says he was off their board. Adams complied to stipulations … They told him point blank he was off the board

It’ll be interesting to hear what those stipulations are, if we ever do. But good for Adams for stepping up, and hopefully the Steelers can get the most out of his talent. Adams joins 2011 first-rounder Cameron Heyward as recent early-round draft picks by the Steelers out of Ohio State.
