2012 NBA Draft: Ashton Gibbs Participates In Pre-Draft Workout With Lakers

Ashton Gibbs elected to come back to Pitt this past year for his senior year, and a disappointing year for the entire team has likely led to a drop in his draft stock. If he had come out last year he would have been a lock to get drafted somewhere, now he is on the bubble to get picked at all. But he will still be able to participate in the draft process, and that includes workouts. According to Cardiac Hill, Gibbs participated in the first group workout for the Lakers this week. Here is a little more on how he could fit with the Lake Show.

The Lakers have Kobe Bryant and Ramon Sessions starting, but don't have much depth on the bench when it comes to shooters in the backcourt. Steve Blake and Andrew Goudelock are the two main options there, but neither is all that consistent and both shot below 40% from the field this year.

Every team could use a sniper like Gibbs, but he'll have to prove that he can bring enough to the table elsewhere to not be a liability in the other aspects of the game.
