Ron Everhart To Join WVU Staff, According To Report

Former Duquesne Dukes head coach Ron Everhart has accepted an assistant coaching job with the West Virginia Mountaineers, according to a report by Jenn Menendez of the Post-Gazette.

Everhart was fired from his job on March 23 after coaching Duquesne for six seasons. Everhart is originally from Fairmont, WV, about 30 minutes away from the West Virginia campus, and has had a longstanding relationship with Mountaineers head coach Bob Huggins.

Everhart joins a team now that made the Final Four two years ago and has made four straight NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament appearances. There were only two seniors on the men's team this year for West Virginia (although those two, Kevin Jones and Truck Bryant, were very important players), so Everhart joins a pretty experienced basketball team despite the Mountaineers' loss in a second round tournament game against Gonzaga back in March.
