Pirates Vs. Tigers: A.J. Burnett Takes The Mound In Detroit On Saturday

The Pittsburgh Pirates will look to rebound from almost being no hit on Friday night when they again take on the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.

Justin Verlander held the Pirates hitless for eight innings on Friday in a 6-0 Tigers victory. Josh Harrison's soft liner to center field in the ninth inning was the only hit the Pittsburgh offense could muster against a dominant Verlander.

A.J. Burnett (1-2, 5.12) will take the mound for the Pirates on Saturday. Burnett has allowed just two runs and six hits over eight innings in each of his last two starts. Last season, as a member of the New York Yankees, Burnett went 2-1 with a 3.06 ERA against the Tigers.
