French Open Results: Andy Roddick Bounced In Opening Round, Venus Williams Advances

Andy Roddick's struggles continued, as he was bounced in the first round of the 2012 French Open by Nicolas Mahut Sunday afternoon 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

This is the first time in which Roddick fell in the first round of a major since 2007. Roddick is now 7-10 in 2012 including an 0-4 mark on clay.

In the women's side, Venus Williams was able to advance, but not without a fight, coming back from an early deficit to win her match against Argentina's Paula Ormaecha 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. This was the first Grand Slam match for Williams since revealing that she had been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. She is now 12-4 this season.
