2012 NBA Draft: Ashton Gibbs Continues Work Out Tour With Pacers

Former Pitt Panther guard Ashton Gibbs has worked out for a slew of NBA teams in preparation for this month's Draft, including the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, LA Clippers, and Brooklyn Nets. That workout tour will continue on Friday when he will reportedly run through drills in front of the Indiana Pacers' brass.

Gibbs is one of several second-tier prospects working out for the Pacers. He's not high on many draft boards, and it will be a challenge for him to go with one of the 60 picks. But it is still encouraging that he's getting a look from so many NBA clubs, something SB Nation's Cardiac Hill discussed:

We've been over Gibbs' chances to get drafted and while they're slim, this isn't really about that. Gibbs is more than likely trying out to become a free agent signee with the hopes of getting into someone's camp. The good news is that he's tried out for a fair amount of teams and the more eyeballs he has on him, the better his chances at getting onto a summer league team.

The NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas provides a lot of players like Gibbs with the opportunity to get another look through a training camp invite.
