Beau Hossler might just win it. The 17-year-old amateur from Mission Viejo, Calif., shot an even-par 70 on Saturday to finish in the top-10 and within striking distance going into Sunday's final run.
Hossler, who hails from Santa Margarita High School in Southern California, had many chances to fade, yet didn't. On four separate occasions, he bogeyed before following them up with a birdie to cancel them out to stay in contention.
As it stands now, Hossler, who is 3-over par for the tournament, sits four strokes back of Graeme McDowell, who remains atop the leaderboard at 1-under par. McDowell shot a 68 on Saturday.
