2012 Wimbledon Results: Serena Williams Defeats Jie Zheng, 6-7, 6-2, 9-7

Day 6 at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships kicked off in rousing fashion, as American Serena Williams survived a scare on Saturday at the All England Club from No. 25 seed Jie Zheng, winning 6-7, 6-2, 9-7 in a grueling three set battle.

Williams had 23 aces to just one for Zheng. The 13-time grand slam champion also had 54 winners to just 21 for Zheng. Williams has now won all six meetings between the two. Williams will next face Yaroslava Shvedova, who defeated No. 10 seed Sara Errani.

Defending champion Petra Kvitova eased into the fourth round with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Varvara Lepchenko of the United States.
