it looks like the next West Virginia baseball coach will in fact be Randy Mazey, according to several reports, including Baseball America's Aaron Fitt. Originally from Uniontown, Penn., Mazey has been the associate head coach at Texas Christian since 2007. Previously, he spent three seasons as the head coach at East Carolina, going 51-13 in 2004 -- a school record -- while making an appearance in the Super Regional.
↵No formal agreement has been announced between the coach and West Virginia. The Forth Worth Star-Telegram first reported the story earlier Tuesday. According to Fitt, a deal has already been reached.
↵Mazey will replace Greg Van Zant, who was fired at the end of the season after 18 years with the program. The Mountaineers went 23-32 this past season.
