While all eyes will be on I'll Have Another's bid for the Triple Crown on Saturday in the 2012 Belmont Stakes, there will be 11 other horses happy to prevent history from occurring. The horse with the best chance to do that, according to the odds, is Dullahan, the second-favorite at 6-1. (I'll Have Another is the favorite at 4-5.)
Regarding spoiling the first Triple Crown since 1978, Jerry Crawford, one of the owners of Dullahan, told the Baltimore Sun, "This is what we owe to Affirmed, Seattle Slew and the rest." Dullahan's trainer, Dale Romans, was even more confident, telling the Sun, "I'll be surprised if we don't win."
Dullahan, who skipped the Preakness after finishing third in the Kentucky Derby, will be running from the No. 5 position. I'll Have Another will be running from the No. 11 spot.
