Although the first day of NHL free agency was a quiet one for one of the most prized free agents of this offseason, Bob McKenzie of TSN is reporting that former New Jersey Devils winger Zach Parise is close to making a decision of where he will sign.
McKenzie says that Parise's agent hinted to Monday being the day where his fate will be decided, as he spent Sunday going over different offers and has narrowed the field of teams down.
Many believe that the Pittsburgh Penguins have been making a heavy push toward getting Parise, as there have been reports of Sidney Crosby and Parise's former teammate Paul Martin reaching out to him in an attempt to get him to sign with Pittsburgh.
