NHL Free Agency 2012: Penguins Sign Minor-League Forward Warren Peters

The Penguins continued to shore up depth in the minor league system as the team signed 28-year-old minor league journeyman Warren Peters to a two-way deal.

Peters has been in professional hockey for 10 seasons yet has never appeared in an NHL game. Last season, he played with the Houston Aeros of the AHL where he racked up 15 goals and 17 assits in 62 games.

If he were to make the NHL team, his contract would shoot up to $600,000. He is a long-shot to see any playing time at the NHL level, so this signing seems to be one to add depth at the minor league level.
