London Olympics 2012: Pennsylvania Native Coleman Scott Will Wrestle For Team USA

In addition to Jake Herbert of North Allegheny, Western Pennsylvania will have another Team USA representative wrestling in London at the 2012 Olympics. Waynesburg's Coleman Scott will head to London this month after clinching one of the final berths on the U.S. freestyle wrestling team last month. He defeated Shawn Bunch in a unique wrestle-off at an outdoor venue -- an elevated mat in Times Square. It will be Scott's first Olympics appearance, qualifying in the 132-pound freestyle class.

Scott, who went on to wrestle at Oklahoma State, recently spoke with their athletics site about what it meant to become an Olympian:

Q: What did it feel like the moment you beat Bunch and realized you were an Olympian?
A: Just that it was a dream coming true. I have always dreamt of being an Olympic champion, and I would not be able to achieve that goal without being an Olympian. With all the time everyone has put into me, this was a little something I could give back to them.

Scott is a three-time state champion who, like Herbert, is predicted to have a shot to bring a medal back to Western Pennsylvania.
