2012 London Olympics: Team USA Defeats Argentina, 86-80 In Friendly Match

Kevin Durant led Team USA to victory with 27 points against Argentina on Saturday afternoon in Barcelona, Spain by a final score of 86-80. It was on this same site 20 years ago where the the original 1992 Dream Team took the basketball world by storm and launched the globalization of the game as we know it today.

As such, the current U.S. Men's National Team wore throwback uniforms to honor the squad led by Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson who steamrolled all-comers with an average margin of victory of 43.8 points.

Kobe Bryant scored 18 points while LeBron James pitched in 15 points which helped the Americans get out to a 20 point lead early in the second quarter. But they squandered it by fouling too much as Argentina picked up their play and became much more aggressive.

Team USA faces off against Spain on Tuesday.
