2012 Wimbledon Results: Serena Williams Wins In Straight Sets

With a 6-3, 7-5 victory over fourth seeded Petra Kvitova, Serena Williams is heading to the semifinals at the 2012 Championships at Wimbledon. The four-time Wimbledon champion held serve in every game and only faced one break point from Kvitova.

Kvitova is the first player the sixth seeded Williams has faced in the tournament with a lower seed, but she may face second seeded Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in the semifinals. Azarenka faces unseeded Tamira Paszek on Tuesday in a match to decide Williams' next opponent.

Williams is the lone American woman still in the Wimbledon draw and only Mardy Fish remains for the Americans in the men's singles draw. The semifinals for the women's draw will be played on Thursday, July 5.
