2012 PGA Championship Purse: Rory McIlroy's Seven-Figure Payday

Rory McIlroy closed out the 2012 PGA Championship in stunning fashion on Sunday. He finished the tournament at 13-under par and eight strokes ahead of David Lynn, who took second place, finishing at 5-under par. McIlroy shot a bogey-free round of golf to win on the tournament's final day, taking home the Wanamaker Trophy.

But the trophy wasn't the only thing that McIlroy won. In addition to the trophy he'll receive over a million dollars in prize money as well, nearly doubling what the competitors below him will take home:

First place: Rory McIlroy, $1,445,000
Second place: David Lynn, $865,000

Tie for third: Justin Rose $384,500
