According to reports by Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest and Dale Lolley of The Observer-Reporter of Washington (PA), Steelers running back John Clay was carted off the field Sunday with an undisclosed injury. Clay's injury is just another blow to Pittsburgh's already thin running back unit as both Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer did not practice Sunday, and Rashard Mendenhall continues to recover from the torn ACL he suffered late last season.
After enjoying a terrific career at the University of Wisconsin, Clay was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent following the 2011 NFL Draft. He joined the team as a practice-squad player before being eventually added to the active roster. He finished the 2011 campaign with 10 rushes for 41 yards and one touchdown.
