Mike Wallace Reportedly Expected Back To Steelers Before Regular Season

Mike Wallace might have missed out on the beginning of training camp as well as the Steelers' first preseason game against Philadelphia, and he might even miss more prep work for the season, but it appears the wide receiver has no plans of extending his holdout long enough to miss regular season action.

Wallace has been working out in Florida, so it's not like he'll be out of football shape. It would seem that this news means Wallace is leaning toward signing the Steelers' one-year, $2.7 million deal rather than continuing to wait for a long-term deal. The Steelers insist they'll be willing to negotiate a longer deal once Wallace reports to training camp, which might be in their best interest. Wallace is Pittsburgh's best wide receiver and a Pro-Bowler, so they probably don't want to let the fourth-year player walk. However, that's for later. What matters now is that it seems as if Pittsburgh will have its leading wide out back for the regular season.
