Garrett Jones plated six runs for the Pirates on Thursday, leading them to a 10-6 victory against Dodgers. Those six RBIs for Jones came by way of a pair of three-run shots. With the win, Pittsburgh avoids a four-game sweep at the hands of the Dodgers.
Pedro Alvarez also homered for the Pirates, while A.J. Burnett became the first Bucs pitcher in 13 years to record 15 wins. Burnett gave up six earned runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings of work. He also struck out seven and walked just one.
James Loney and Hanley Ramirez each hit long balls for the Dodgers, who had a four-game winning streak snapped.
