Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will play at least one half Saturday against the Buffalo Bills, head coach Mike Tomlin told the Pittsburgh media on Thursday. Roethlisberger will get a majority of the snaps among the three quarterbacks in the road contest, as Byron Leftwich and Charlie Batch will serve as the team's backups. Jerrod Johnson, who served as the third string quarterback in Pitt's last two contests, will not play.
This will be the last time during the preseason Roethlisberger will see this much action, as the final preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, Aug. 30, will more than likely feature a battle for the backup positions between Leftwich, Batch and Johnson.
Leftwich and Batch are the favorites to keep their roster spots over Johnson.
