The Pittsburgh Pirates look to snap a four game losing streak on Saturday when they play host to the Milwaukee Brewers in a matchup of NL Central teams.
Shaun Marcum will make his first start for the Brewers since June 14. Marcum has spent the last two months on the disabled list because of elbow soreness, but managed to avoid major surgery. To date, Marcum is 5-3 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and has held opponents to a .227 average.
Pittsburgh, 37-24 at PNC Park this year, will counter Marcum with Jeff Karstens. Karstens last started on Sunday, when the Pirates defeated the Cardinals in the marathon 19-inning game. Karstens carries a 3.79 ERA and 1.13 WHIP into Saturday's game, though he's only struck out 54 in 76 innings of work.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET at PNC Park. Televised coverage can be found on ROOT Sports.
