The American women's soccer team won their match in the semifinals on Monday against the Canadian team in dramatic fashion. Alex Morgan scored the winning goal just as extra time expired to punch Team USA's ticket for a trip to the finals against Japan.
Team USA used an aggressive second half to notch the scoreboard at 3-3 with extra time starting. Megan Rapinoe scored the first two goals for the Americans. Abby Wambach tied it at the 80-minute mark. Morgan leaped above a smattering of white jerseys in front of the net, and put the winning goal away with a header over Canadian goaltender Erin McLeod.
The win sets up a rematch from the 2011 World Cup, when the United States Women's National Team lost to Japan.
