The Pittsburgh Pirates know they are running out of time to make a run in the National League Wild Card race. While the NL Central is all but over with the Reds holding an 11-game lead, the Pirates remain just 2.5 games back for the second Wild Card spot. Cincinnati remains in the hunt for home field advantage in the league and would like to do nothing more than make a statement against their division foes.
