This offseason, Pitt suddenly lost new head football coach Todd Graham when he abruptly departed for Arizona State, offering his goodbyes to Panthers players via a text message. His strong start as the head coach of the Sun Devils (who pulled out blowout victories over Northern Arizona and Illinois in their first two games) along with Pitt's season-opening losses against Youngstown State and Cincinnati, had some Panthers fans wondering if his departure might have been an even worse deal than it seemed to be at the time.
↵Well, Pitt fans can rest easy this week. Pitt knocked off Virginia Tech, and Graham's Sun Devils came up short against Missouri, losing 24-20 as Kenronte Walker picked off a Taylor Kelly pass with just under two minutes go. For once, all's right with the world. Graham had to go home a loser, and the Panthers pulled off an upset.
